Mastering my Reiki practice is a continual journey of learning and development that is simply life changing. In today’s journal, I explore my journey so far and I also introduce you to Frans Stiene who is simply, inspirational.

Reiki most certainly brings me a lot of happiness.
More importantly, it brings me a sense of ‘peace’ that at one time I never could imagine experiencing. Since discovering the difference between Western and Eastern Reiki, my spiritual awareness is most certainly growing. Continuing my learning assists with mastering my Reiki practice. Most importantly, it allows me to contine uncovering deep routed trauma and heal.
Beginning My Reiki Practice
I am not alone in admitting to feeling that there was something missing from my original Reiki training. It just felt like something that I just couldn’t put my finger on; however, I never gave up on Reiki. Something within me kept my heart open to it.
Thankfully, I was called to look deeper, which began with studying the meaning behind the Reiki symbols. As a result, this has significantly strengthened my connection with Reiki. Also, I am harnessing my ability to master my ego to become at ‘one’ with myself.
With a peaceful mind a true connection is made with the Universe.
I will admit to finding it difficult sometimes to fully quieten my mind. Thankfully, with continued practice, it does become easier. This is why ritual is an integral part of Reiki and therefore, doing Reiki meditation daily is also key. Furthermore, I have recently began incorporating chanting into my daily self-care routine. My continued learning has taken me down this new path, which is exciting.
With chanting, I am learning to let go of the need to understand the meaning behind the chanting. Being too preoccupied with doing it correctly or attaching to an outcome, is not emptying my mind. Chanting brings a sense of ‘peace‘ and an awareness of how my mind works.
There is something truly magical about letting go and feeling ‘oneness’.
Adopting the Five Reiki Precepts Assists with Mastering My Reiki Practice

Although Reiki is not a religious practice, Buddhism is at its core thanks to Mikao Usui.
Just imagine for a moment, complete peace, no attachment to thoughts that can make you feel negative.
Imagine, just for today, just being and not doing.
This is Mikao’s Usui’s teaching within the five Reiki precepts. When ‘being’, we are at peace, and it is here we feel our place within the Universe. We are, indeed, a little Universe within a big Universe. In the meditations of Reiki, we grow our ability to come out of our mind, and into the present.
Going with the flow and not having expectations of our actions is most certainly achievable!
I have personally discovered that my journey of deep inner healing has significantly improved since discovering my true self. Also, I am not going to tell you that I am fully healed! Presently, I don’t know how many layers of healing I will experience in this lifetime.
Understanding and incorporating the five Reiki precepts into my daily life, is instrumental.
When I find myself angry or worried, I immediately recognise it as an opportunity to deepen my inner healing. More importantly, I am ready to face whatever it is that I find triggering. In other words, it is a cue to go deeper into my subconscious and do some shadow work. My connection with Reiki assists me with this process.
Mastering My Reiki Practice Summary
Focusing on your breath and the movement of energy assists with being present. Knowing that it is OK to have thoughts, but not to attach to them, helps you to be fully present. The more we practice focusing our attention, the easier it becomes to master our ego.
Stilling my mind and performing my Reiki meditations assists with finding solutions. Also, it assists with releasing buried feelings that no longer serve me. I can most certainly see why Mikao Usui, and other practitioners meditate on mountains for 21 days.
There are so many benefits for ‘being‘ Reiki, and I continue being excited to see where it takes me.
Finally, I will leave you with the words of Frans Stiene below. Also included is a link to his wonderful article titled Reiki and Buddhism.
For people who openheartedly embrace Reiki or Buddhism as a serious spiritual path the ultimate goal is the same – true self knowledge at the very deepest level. This is the sincere recognition and realization of ourselves, here, now, in this physical body as a complete being – a creature free from attachment and suffering – one whose essence is compassion, bliss and wisdom – an enlightened being – in a nutshell, a Buddha. If we practice Mikao Usui’s path with dedication and patience this is where it leads. Frans Stiene
