Reiki and protection go hand in hand, no pun intended! So, today’s journal looks at how important protection is when providing Reiki.
Reiki and Protection
When a client asks you to begin performing Reiki, they are trusting you with their energy, time and finances. Therefore, when providing Reiki, it is essential that you respect your client and their wellbeing. Of course, I know this goes without saying.
Part of my teaching of Reiki is never to leave your client alone during a treatment. However, sometimes and although rare, this isn’t possible.
Only last night, I found myself in a position whereby I needed to leave the room during a treatment. It wasn’t a decision I took lightly but, I had made a mistake of not bringing in my drink of water. During the session, the worst imaginable tickling sensation began at the back of my throat. My eyes began watering as I tried everything to make it stop and even though I coughed once, it made matters worse for me. I had no alternative but to leave the room!
Guidance, Protection and Healing
However, before leaving, I drew the power symbol over my clients crown chakra. Next, I began asking my guides to protect her while I leave the room. I was in need of a drink of water. Obviously, I made sure that I was calm while quietly leaving the room so as not to cause any alarm.
Reiki and Protection Summary
Once the treatment concluded and during our post consultation, my client’s words were inspiring.
She was aware of me leaving the room during the treatment but, she felt hands gently holding either side of her head. Furthermore, she felt wonderfully safe and calm, later commenting on how wonderful her overall experience was. In addition, she also had feelings of warm heat running up and down her legs and arms. The flow of Reiki was most definitely felt.
Before every treatment, I ask my guides, angels healers of light, and ancestors, to offer guidance, protection, and healing for me and my client. Therefore, I do believe that either my guide or her guide was holding her head. Furthermore, the thought of this happening is filling my heart with joy. Reiki is truly magical and during the session, you could feel unconditional love all around us.
A Tickling Throat
Summarising this experience is also a special moment in time. I feel as though I’m advancing in my knowledge and spiritual awareness, which of course is wonderful. Therefore, did I feel my client’s issues when being hit with a tickle in my throat?
My intuition is telling me yes and although she doesn’t have any issues with her throat or a cough, she is bottling her feelings. This is most interesting because it is true that as a practitioner, we can sense our client’s problems from feelings.
