In my latest journal, I discuss what I refer to as Reiki hands. I talk about my own experience of feeling the flow of Reiki energy through my hands, and how I may have prevented it from occurring sooner.
As a Reiki practitioner, I didn’t feel the Reiki heat in my hands at first. For some people, it can take a while and for others, it can be straight away. It’s certainly true that the more you give and receive Reiki, the more you will feel.
In my experience, it’s common for clients to feel the sensation of heat coming from my hands during a Reiki session. Indeed, as a practitioner, I have also felt this wonderfully comforting heat. I would liken it to your gran wrapping you up in the softest of blankets and showing you how much she loves you.
The heat is a sure sign that the Reiki healing energy is flowing. Furthermore, feeling that heat while in a relaxed state, is highly recommended and beneficial.
At first, I wasn’t feeling it
In the beginning, while giving Reiki to myself, I don’t remember feeling it. I do, however, remember questioning myself and thinking that perhaps I’m not capable of it. In hindsight, I needed to practice patience. My intuition was telling me that it will come in time and that I just need to stop thinking about it and go with the flow. The more I would think about it, the more I was potentially blocking it as I was allowing my negative energy such as self-doubt to creep in. There’s a lot to be said for leaving it to the Universe.
Reiki hands grow stronger
Upon reflection, it wasn’t until I had received my Reiki 2 attunement that I noticed the heat. I also felt a lot more than just heat. It’s quite hard to describe how I feel balls of energy that bump against the inside of my hand. I do believe that this is negative energy being drawn out, or sometimes, it’s an abundance, perhaps too much energy in the area that I’m sensing.
Following my teacher/master attunement was when I began appreciating the true wonders of the Universe. If I hadn’t connected with the Universe, I wouldn’t be able to allow myself to flow. Trusting in the Universe and going with the flow, is a lot easier since my initiation or attunement to Usui Reiki.
What is a Reiki attunement?
A Reiki Master like myself can initiate a process that allows you to connect with the healing energy of the Universe. It involves a beautiful ritual that we refer to as an attunement or initiation. It’s a fine-tuning process that allows you to receive and channel the energy to others.
The heat that I feel in my hands is exciting and it also further enhances my intuitive skills.
I remember my Reiki Master informing me that there are times that we will feel this heat unexpectedly. She said that it will be a sign that someone or some living thing, will need healing energy. This is where your intuition comes into play as you observe your surroundings for what’s calling you, and trust in it. I’ve learned the true value of nurturing all living things since Reiki came into my life.
Reiki Hand Intuition Summary
Finally, I will end on this note.
My intuition tells me that the heat or the healing energy that I feel in my hands, is an abundance of love in its purest form. No wonder Reiki is such a beautiful and powerful experience to practice as a way of living.
In my experience with clients, the temperature that I feel can dramatically change. At first, I was taken aback when I felt a cool spot. I knew that it wasn’t a draft. I can only describe it as dipping my hands in a cool pool of still water. When you trust your intuition, you recognise those areas that require just that little bit of extra attention.
